DELIVERY AND SHIPPING POLICY

1. SCOPE OF DELIVERY

1.1 This policy applies to all products purchased through the Timber and Hide website. We deliver within the Republic of South Africa only and do not ship internationally.

2. DELIVERY COSTS

2.1 Orders with a total value under R2 999 incur a flat delivery fee of R325. Orders of R2 999 or more qualify for free delivery. The final delivery cost will be calculated at checkout based on your address and any promotions.

2.2 Free delivery applies only to the net value of the products after discounts and excludes optional services or fees. Where delivery is offered free of charge and you later return items, the original delivery fee and the return fee will be deducted from any refund.

3. DELIVERY TIMES

3.1 We aim to deliver your order promptly. Estimated delivery times are three to five working days for major cities and five to seven working days for remote areas. Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

3.2 We dispatch goods once payment has been confirmed. We accept payment by credit or debit card only. Payments by electronic funds transfer or cash are not accepted.

4. DELIVERY PROCESS

4.1 When your order is ready for dispatch we will contact you to arrange a delivery date and approximate time. Deliveries occur during business hours from Monday to Friday.

4.2 You must ensure that the delivery address is complete and accurate and that someone is available to sign for and inspect the goods on arrival. If no one is present at the agreed time, additional delivery charges may be incurred.

4.3 We deliver only to locations with reasonable access. It is your responsibility to ensure that items can pass easily through doors, stairways and corridors. We will not hoist furniture through windows or balconies. Remove fragile items and old furniture from the delivery area in advance.

4.4 Risk transfers to you upon delivery. Visible damage must be recorded on the delivery note. Hidden defects must be reported to us within forty eight hours of delivery. We are not liable for damages not noted or reported within the specified periods.

5. AREAS NOT SERVICED

5.1 If our courier partner does not service your area, we will contact you to arrange delivery to the nearest accessible town or to arrange a refund.

5.2 We require an exact physical address. We do not deliver to farms or locations where the last section of the road is unpaved or inaccessible.

6. FREE DELIVERY PROMOTIONS

6.1 Promotional free delivery thresholds are calculated on the order total after discounts. Promotions do not cover optional services. If your area is not easily accessible or falls outside our usual delivery zones, we will contact you to advise whether a delivery fee applies.

6.2 Free delivery promotion orders will be dispatched as soon as payment has been confirmed. We do not hold stock for more than seven working days.

7. DELIVERY EXCLUSIONS

7.1 Products may be delivered unassembled. Assembly instructions are provided. We do not offer assembly services and are not responsible for any damage incurred during self‑assembly.

7.2 We do not allow customer collections. All orders will be delivered to the address provided at checkout.
